\u2018Blanc de Meudon<\/em>\u2019 (\u201cMeudon whiting\u201d, a kind of crushed chalk) is one of the various names this product bears. It is also called Spain whiting, Champagne whiting, Troyes whiting, Toulouse whiting or more rarely \u2018white polishing stone\u2019. It is composed of Calcium Carbonate particles(CaCO_{3<\/sub>) which is the main component of chalk and limescale. Slightly alkaline and abrasive, it is traditionally used in paint manufactures, for housework and creative leisure activities. It is also used for polishing of silverware, earthenware, ceramic hobs and plastics. It is suitable for gold-plating activities, mirror polishing, as well as bleaching of footwear fabrics.\u00a0Blanc de Meudon<\/em>\u00a0is a component of mastics, some sparkling waters and is sometimes used as incandescent powder for fireworks. It was formerly a tanning product for animal skins, before this activity stopped being a hand-made process. To create your own clay stone (hard surface cleaner). Mix 90g of \u2018Blanc de Meudon<\/em>\u2019 with 60mL of black soap and a teaspoon of soda crystals. Pour the mixture in a pot and leave drying for 3 days under sunlight or near to a heat source. Once it becomes hard like a stone, you can use it to scrub and shine your surfaces.<\/p>
